Internship Opportunities
Internships for English Students

Interning is an excellent way to gain practical experience and enhance skills in a professional environment. It can also lead to potential job offers or provide networking opportunities that help you land your dream job.
As an English major, you can pursue paid and unpaid internships. Students can receive three units of English elective credit upon completion of the 120-hour requirement.
By interning, you can apply your classroom learning to real-life situations, improve your writing and communication skills, and gain valuable experience to include on your resume.
Pursuing an internship as an English major can be an excellent way to prepare yourself for success in the workforce while earning academic credit.

- With your internship supervisor, fill out and sign the Internship Agreement Form (PDF) and email the completed form to the faculty member with whom you are working.
- Register for the independent study through which you will earn your three units of English elective credit. The faculty member will tell you how to do this once they have received your Internship Agreement form.
- Complete the assignments required for the course. These include five journal entries over the course of the semester: Journal Prompt (PDF); a supervisor’s evaluation as well as tabulation and confirmation of hours interned; and, a final 2-3 page reflection about the internship experience.
