Work & Education

Kristen D. Robinson, M.A., is an accomplished educator and writer with over 15 years of experience in teaching, marketing, and journalism. As an Assistant Teaching Professor in the FYRW Program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), she focuses on rhetoric, writing pedagogy, and the integration of mental health themes into academic curricula. Her current research interests include AI, trauma-informed pedagogies, a pedagogy of kindness, and ungrading as both a philosophical and structural mechanism. Kristen's teaching approach focuses on creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments that cultivate a joyful atmosphere while encouraging active learning and engagement.
In addition to her academic work, Kristen has extensive experience in editorial roles. As Special Sections Editor for The Pantagraph, she curated and authored content while coordinating between marketing and advertising departments. She also served under the Director of Marketing at CU Denver’s College of Nursing, where she managed digital media, wrote feature articles, and optimized web content using SEO best practices. A published author and freelancer, Kristen has contributed articles on topics including women’s issues, health, and business, and has developed marketing materials for both non-profits and corporate clients.
