English Rhetoric & Writing Minor

Whether you aspire to become a writer, educator, or work in a corresponding field, the English - Rhetoric & Writing degree program will provide you with the tools you need to succeed.

Rhetoric and writing are the study of how we influence, persuade, and argue in and through language. This discipline and art will cultivate students’ critical thinking and written and oral communication skills, thereby preparing them to be thoughtful and active participants in civic life and to excel professionally in whatever career they pursue.

The English Literature minor requires a minimum of 21 credit hours of English course work, 9 of which must be upper-division (3000+ level). All courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better.
