About the Program

Literature refers to the study of texts from around the world.

Generally, "literature" refers to genres of imaginative writing, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, plays, and more. However, the study of literature also responds to the ways genres are rapidly expanding as new mediums of communication provide new types of texts.

Focus of Study

Students will discuss, analyze and write about a wide variety of styles and genres as well as the histories and cultures to which they respond.
